The recent craze for fatbikes, those chubby mountain bikes that are especially fun to ride in winter, has not failed to reach Charlevoix. And for good reason! With the breathtaking panoramas that have made it famous—perhaps even more striking under a blanket of snow and sparkling frost—it’s no wonder that a growing number of outdoor-loving residents and visitors alike are giving it a try.
For now, the offering remains modest in the region, with a few sites beginning to lend themselves to it. In any case, it is important to ride responsibly: choose areas where it is permitted, respect private property, and avoid trails reserved for federated snowmobile clubs.
