Dear athlete,
Vélo Charlevoix is a non-profit organization that orchestrates a series of mountain bike events such as the XCC-XCO MTB Quebec/Canada Cups or the MTB Charlevoix Cup, as well as road bike events such as the Grand Prix Cycliste or the GranFondo. Each event has its own identity and its own colors.
As you may know, the city of Baie St.-Paul was faced with major flooding last Monday afternoon. The mayor declared a state of emergency. Several areas of the downtown area were greatly affected. Unfortunately, one of our event sites, Camping le Genévrier, was also devastated. The water destroyed the parking lot, the grounds and the campsites. We have not made a decision as to whether or not our events will be held. At this time, we are evaluating all possibilities whether to cancel, postpone or continue the activities. We don’t want this to be a spontaneous decision. It is clear that the decision to hold each event of the Grands Rendez-vous Cyclistes de Charlevoix series is evaluated and managed individually. We will reflect and discuss further. The final decision will be announced publicly within the next week. Stay tuned to our networks and your emails.
